Maurice Mentjens is een van Nederlands bekendste interieurontwerpers die met zijn ontwerpen geregeld in de prijzen is gevallen: in 2005, 2006 èn 2007 de Nederlandse designprijs, en in 2007 de Designprijs der Bundesrepublik Deutschland.  Eind oktober werd hij genomineerd voor The Great Indoors Award 2009 in de categorie: Design Firm of the Year. 
Centre Céramique in Maastricht wijdt deze winter een tentoonstelling aan dit zuidelijke talent waarin duidelijk wordt wie zijn grote voorbeelden zijn, wat hem inspireert en waar hij nu staat. Naast een overzicht van zijn eigen ontwerpen zullen er zeldzame stukken getoond worden van o.a. Ettore Sottsass, Ron Arad en Shiro Kuramata.
De tentoonstelling wordt, uiteraard, ingericht en ontworpen door Mentjens zelf.
